Suggestions for the Solar Group
1. You will be given a solar energy model to make for your presentation to help you to explain how this technology works.
2. An interesting experiment you could also can do is to measure the effect of light intensity on read ability. In the developing world reading in the low light levels or with candles or oil lamps is a very common practice. In a experiment you could compare how candle light compares with an LED headtorch when reading. LED headtouches use rechargeable batteries than can be re charged with a small portable solar recharger. Why not compare whether this is a viable alternative to using candles?
Equipment
candles and matches
light meter (provided)
something to read
participants
head tourch = Stirnlampe (provided)
access to a dark room
Group members

Nico Kopitsis
Luana Giandomenico
